We have all heard the saying ‘Time waits for no man’. As we get older, this phrase resounds more clearly in our ears. We all go about our daily lives trying to build to to a state that is commonly known as happiness.
Is it really true however, as my mum says, that ‘what is for you won’t go by you?’. Does timing really affect fate? I think we all want to believe from time to time, that fate will win over timing, especially when it comes to love. I mean, as we get on with our day-to-day lives, what if that perfect man was sitting on the train you just got off from? Is timing really everything?
There is a great deal of truth in the statement. The difference between a good joke and a bad one is a person's sense of timing. An appropriate pause makes a joke . . . an inappropriate pause can kill the same joke. Is this true of love also? It is a fact that most people conjure up a perception of someone new that they meet after just one minute. 1 minute is the amount of time you have to impress someone new. Doesn’t seem fair, does it? What if you are having a bad day, or you’ve fallen down the stairs or you’ve gotten fired. Can a true representation of your personality be created accurately in one minute? and will this representation affect your life?
Timing can change everything to a certain degree. Lets look at things in perspective. What if your man pops out to get some popcorn for your DVD night, but your ex- who is still in love with you show up at the door and insists your love is worth fighting for. This is a moment that could have been a lot different, if your current beau had not yet left. Was this your ex’s intention? How would things be different if you left your man for your ex. Would you be happier? If you close the door in your ex’s face will you think about him every night? Will you compare him to your current boyfriend?
So many scenarios can be made up in our heads! Its what us ladies are best at. Sometimes, it could be the truth and most times it is just our over active imagination looking for something that is not even there. It causes us to think, what if? And if only. Why put yourself through it.
We all strive for what we believe to be perfection in our lives. In our jobs, in our families and in our love life. Although timing can affect things and their pattern, you have to believe that things happen for a reason and without certain things happening the way they did you would not be where you are today. Life can be one big gamble and we are here to play the game. Make the most of the situations that arise in your life. Grab hold of the love you are shown and most importantly do your best in that minute to impress. You never know where it might lead!
