When was the last time you said it? Work at keeping that spark alive or face the consequences..
I finally got around to watching the much talked about P.S. I Love You last night and it didn't disappoint.
Fantastic peformances from the lovely Hilary Swank & 'a very easy on the eye' Gerard Butler once you get over his appalling Irish accent which seriously annoyed me. Despite Cecelia Ahern being Irish, I'm sure they know that we don't speak like that ..... I can somewhat understand films of bygone years where you were just waiting for a leprachaun to appear , but come on guys, it's 2009 and we're a very cosmo European Ireland - aren't we?
Anyway, my point is, it's a real tear jerker but got me thinking do we tell we the people we love often enough that we love them? Do our loved ones just assume that we do and can only assume it because we've never actually told them. We'd find it awkward or seriously embarrassing to say 'I Love You' out loud to our parents, siblings, BFF's (learnt this from my 5 year old daughter!) Best Friends Forever, but you get my point.
A siginificant percentage of couples co-habit for a significant time before getting married and can so easily fall into a routine that after the wedding nothing really changes and this can contribute to post wedding blues which we've all read about.
Remember, marriage if meant to mean 'till death do us part' and for the most case, let's hope it is that way, but you have got to work on keeping that spark alive. If you don't, you can so easily, without realising it, turn into a nagging partner/wife and someone who's not much fun to be around. Don't think any one of us would like to described like that! This can only lead to unnecessary arguments, one of you storming out, finding excuses not to go home and even an affair. Think I'm exaggerating ?? Unfortunately, I'm not, so take a page out of Cecelia Ahern's film and think about your 'spark' and make sure it doesn't go out but is shining brightly & remember to write a note on the fridge or a scribble on the bathroom mirror after your morning shower saying, P.S. I Love You.
