Meet The Beautiful & Talented Lisa Fitzpatrick!
We met up with the lovely Lisa Fitzpatrick (she really is lovely!) last week and got some straight answers to some straight questions!!

Lisa, we’ve become accustomed to seeing you on our TV screens and obviously as the VIP Best Dressed Woman Of The Year but where did Lisa Fitzpatrick come from? What’s your background? I have worked in the fashion business since I was 19 years old. I started working for a wholesale ladies fashion company & I moved to manufacturing and then I bought my own clothes shop and hairdressers.

Did you always want to work in TV or how did that come about? I never really thought about TV. However, I did always want to present Blind Date! I loved that show. I always loved watching Barabra Mc Mahon on 'Head to Toe' and I love Mary Kennedy on TV. I did a fashion slot on Ireland AM 7 years ago. Debbie O'Donnell was the producer. It was my first time on TV and I just loved it and thankfully Victoria O Brien continues to ask me back and I am so thrilled she does.

What’s the best/worst thing about being Lisa Fitzpatrick? The best is I have a great husband and two very healthy happy children. I have a job that I enjoy doing which is versatile and flexible and suits me being a mum.The worst is I can't sit still! I get up early and I don't stop - I never ever stop. I also have a bad habit of having a cup of tea every night with chocolate.

Tell us about Style & Body Academy? Who’s it for & how do people sign up for it? What are the costs involved? Style & Body is great fun. It's a very relaxed day. Mothers & Daughters attend which is super, as some daughters including my six year old, don't listen to there mum but they will listen to anyone else so I can get the message across for them. We also get Hen parties girls who just want to absorb information on fashion/style advice. Karl Henry is great and does a presentation on health this is when I hide..........

We sometimes have a fashion show of local boutiques that want to promote there product which is super as I can then do demonstrations for them. I love this type of  day. It usually starts with smoothies on arrival and ends with cocktails. Prices vary as it depends on what deal the hotel we do it in offers,  if it include rooms/lunch etc, Ticket sales are normally €50 if we arrange it ourselves.

What are your top 3 fashion tips? Work your good area and hide the not so good. Organize your wardrobe before you go shopping to   see what you really need before you go. Have good posture & smile!

What are you favourite websites? I love now, especially if I am getting my colour done, that I can catch up with TV3 on-line and RTE real player.E entertainment is great.

Who’s fashion  do you admire? Heidi Klum, Beyonce, Alison Doody. I love to people watch. I could sit in a cafe and watch people all day. Style to me is about individuality - everyone has a look that makes them look and feel good.

Best dressed male? Mark Cagney, Louis Copeland, Ian Galvin & John Redmond

How does even begin to  de-clutter a wardrobe? I love doing this for clients-friends. It is easier if you have a rail (which you can pick up in Argos or on line €20). You must remember 'if in doubt you can do without', so if you have a piece you love keep it. Allow time for this as if you will end up parting with items you should keep. Alterations are a huge part of this if like me your weight goes up and down just gather a bag of clothes and drop then into get altered. It is worth it when you collect them as you feel like you have a new wardrobe. Storage boxes are available now at good prices so change your wardrobe around from Autumn to Summer by using storage boxes. This will allow more space to see your clothes. You can also sell you bags on-line that you are finished with and sell your clothes to exchange shops.

If you could invite 5 guests for dinner (living or dead) who would they be and why?

Barak: He has so much charisma - I love him! So, for his mind & looks
Colin Firth : I have a huge crush on him and that accent hmmmmmmm
Ellen:-Love her show she is just good fun-funny and loves music like I do!
Terry Wogan: Sir Terry, clever, funny, entertaining - I adore him.
Beyonce: -Her music, style, business mind, her positive attitude - great girl!

What's next for Lisa Fitzpatrick? I am currently writing a book which i am enjoying doing and it will be out End October. www.fitzpatrickstyle.com
