Being the month of December, we took it upon ourselves to take a trip to the North Pole and ask Santa what the boys & girls from SimplyWeddings.com were asking for this Christmas
He did say not to worry too much if you’re still on the naughty list, there’s still a little time to save yourself!
Hi Santa, thanks so much for taking some time out of your hectic schedule to meet with us. All the boys & girls from SimplyWeddings.com are really excited about your pending visit and in case you didn’t receive their letters due to industrial action, floods, swine flu etc., we've brought some with us!
1. So, Santa what do some of the SW girls want for Christmas this year?
Well, most of the girls have been very well behaved this year despite a few indiscretions along the way mostly because of the ‘ol vino but nothing on the scale of Tiger Woods. He’s top of my boys naughty list at the moment along with Ronnie Wood (we all know why!), The Hoff (drink driving) Silvio Berlusconi (adulterer on a grand scale) Chris Brown (for viciously attacking Rihanna) Ryan O'Neal (for not recognising his daughter at Farah Fawcett's funeral & tried chatting her up!) & finally, George Lee (for depressing a country) - who would have thought that possible!
Top of the girls naughty list is that dreadful Amy Winehouse (so many reasons & too little time), Kate Moss (for saying 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels') knowing so many young impressionable girls look up to her, Sienna Miller (for nearly wrecking a marriage) etc.,
The girls this year aren’t asking for as much as they did in the last couple of years. There’s been a significant drop in the number of “designer gear” requests. As always, jewellery is a favourite, and amongst those a large number of engagement rings, so come Christmas, there will be a few surprise engagements but we won’t name names. Mrs Claus has noticed a increase in the number of voucher requests as with this unfortunate recession one doesn’t want to receive a gift that you won’t use, so vouchers (whilst possibly not terrible romantic) is always a safe bet. PLEASE check with the voucher providers what their T & C’s are so you’ll know if there’s an expiry period or if it’s open ended. A voucher for 2 people in a nice hotel or restaurant is always a welcome gift. I heard some of the elves discussing airline vouchers this year for the first time as they always like a break in the sun after the Christmas rush in the North Pole. 2. We'd best not forget the boys – what have they asked for?
Ah, the boys! We’ve had a lot of requests for new jobs this year namely from Brian Cowen, Brian Lenihan, David McWilliams, Thierry Henri etc.,
We might be far away from you, but we we’ve been keeping up-to-date with all the news coming from Ireland this year and it hasn’t been a great year for you. Santa can’t wave a magic wand and give you all jobs but we do hope to brighten your day in some way and you always have 2010 to look forward too. Things are never as bad as they seem and believe it or not, but there is always someone else worse off than you. For those of you who are very down and maybe not really looking forward to Christmas this year, remember, you never know what tomorrow will bring so hang in there & things will turn around.

3. Santa, how long have you & Mrs Claus been married?
Ho,ho, ho! Well, Mrs Claus and I have been together so long I don’t remember a time when we weren’t together. All the boys & girls around the world are like our children and we do our very best every year to make them smile on Christmas morning and be thankful for what they have.
4. So, what does Santa get for Christmas?
I have the best job in the world delivering presents to all the children, both big & small. I wish I could see their faces on Christmas morning but by the time I get back to the North Pole it’s a hot cup of coco and bed for me....
5. Is it too late to post a letter to you Santa?
It’s never too late! The fastest way is to send it up your chimney, so write that letter tonight and ask for something that you’ve never asked for before.... you never know, you just might get it this year. Merry Christmas Everyone!!
