Castleknock Hotel & Country Club are delighted to announce that they have been honoured with their most prestigious award since the hotel opened in 2005, the Mark of Business Excellence from Failte Ireland’s Optimus and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

Castleknock Hotel & Country Club, part of the FBD Hotel group is only the fourth hotel in Ireland to currently hold this award. This follows two other awards won in the past week after winning the Repak Excellence in Hospitality Award for efforts in recycling and the Best Customer Service Award at the Dublin 15 Chamber of Commerce Awards. Castleknock Hotel has now won 15 awards since the beginning of 2009.

The EFQM excellence model is a business model which top companies use to strive for sustainable excellence. Its founding members include BT, Nestle, Philips, Renault and Volkswagen.
Business Excellence recognises and measures every aspect of the business with particular focus placed on the strategic management and leadership of the organisation.

Speaking after receiving the three awards, General Manager, Guy Thompson could not contain his delight. “This is an historic achievement for the Castleknock Hotel and I am just so pleased for all the staff. We’re very determined to continue developing the hotel over the coming months” Mr. Thompson also revealed that the hotels performance has improved considerably over the past 12 months, so much so that the number of employees has recently increased by 19% from 124 to 143.
