The singer was performing at the Donegal Shore Festival in his hometown of Kincasslagh, Co Donegal, on Friday when he was upstaged by bride-to-be Anne O'Sullivan.

The Navan native, who was marrying local man Paul Gallagher, decided to go for a spin in her vintage wedding car before their nuptials.

However, she inadvertently got caught up in the crowd that had poured into the village for the opening of the local festival in which Daniel was one of the main attractions.

Egged on by the crowd, the singer happily descended from the stage and posed for a photograph with the blushing bride.

He was the main attraction at the annual music festival which returned this year following a four-year hiatus.

Ms O'Sullivan was full of praise for the singer who also visited her late aunt in hospital while he was on tour in the UK.

After posing for the snaps, she then made her way back to the village of Annagry where she arrived fashionably late at the Church of St Mary's Star of the Sea for her wedding.
