Corrie's Kym Marsh reveals she's back together with Jamie Lomas as she wins Celebrity Mum Of The Year
Coronation Street star Kym Marsh certainly had plenty to smile about in Manchester this morning as the actress picked up the coveted Celebrity Mum Of The Year award at the Lowry Hotel, she revealed she had reunited with Jamie Lomas. The mother-of-two, 33, looked beaming as she spoke of her joy at reconciling with Jamie, 29, and receiving the award.
As she posed with her trophy in a little black dress, boyfriend blazer and shoe boots, Kym announced she was no longer single. She said: 'Yes we are back together. Jamie has got a son of his own and he is a very good father but he can't win Celebrity Mum of the Year.' Kym and Jamie announced they were ending their 15-month relationship last month, but it appears they have decided to give it another try.
She continued: It is a real honour to get this award. It is nice to know I have got a lot of support out there, it has been a really difficult year.
'I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children. It is so important to have a big family network. My parents are so supportive and their dad is very involved in our children's upbringing.'
Her win comes after a difficult two years for the actress, which has seen her divorce ex-husband Jack Ryder, her split from boyfriend Jamie last month and the tragic death of their premature baby.
Jamie and Kym had only been dating for seven months when their son Archie Jay died moments after being born 18 weeks early on February 11.
Kym successfully beat a host of contenders to the trophy, including Samantha Cameron, Katie Price, Kate Moss, Geri Halliwell, Holly Willoughby, Charlotte Church, Natasha Kaplinsky and Kate Garraway.
Twenty celebrity mums were placed on the shortlist for the title, with the winner decided by public vote. Coincidentally, Kym's former Hear'Say bandmate Suzanne Shaw won the same title last year.
Previous winners included Katie Price (2007), Sharon Osbourne (2006), Kerry Katona (2005), Ulrika Jonsson (2004) and Melinda Messenger (2003).
She also picked up the Tesco Magazine Celebrity Mum Of The Year honour last year. Kym lives in Cheshire with her children David, 14, and Emily, 11, whose father is ex-boyfriend Dave Cunliffe. Jamie, who recently left Hollyoaks after three years of playing bad boy Warren Fox, has a three-year-old son Billy from a previous relationship with Hayley Lever.
