The creative director of Alexander McQueen took over at the label last year, following the suicide of label namesake Alexander ‘Lee’ McQueen.

Her first collection went down a storm and her fashion credentials were cemented when she was chosen to design the now Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding gown for her April wedding to Britain’s Prince William.

Sarah has been named in the prestigious category of the 2011 British Fashion Awards alongside Erdem and Christopher Kane.

The Designer Brand of the Year prize will go to either Tom Ford, Burberry, Victoria Beckham or Stella McCartney.
